How to Set Up and Use Your TechWriteable Portfolio: A Step-by-Step Guide
In our post on “How to Build a Freelance Portfolio that attracts High Paying Clients”, we shared the importance of having a professional portfolio as a content writer, marketer, or freelancer. It sets you apart from the overcrowded market by helping you showcase your expertise and best work, reveals to clients that you are a real professional (not an AI bot) and also makes you organically discoverable for opportunities when built with visibility in mind.
In this post, I’ll be running you through a step-by-step guide on how to set up your portfolio as a content marketer on Techwriterable, whether you’re a content writer, social media writer, email writer, or more.
1 .Sign up or create your account
- Go to www.techwriteable.com and click on ‘For Content Marketers’ to access the portfolio platform page
- Click on ‘Create your portfolio in 3 minutes’ and enter your personal details. The details you’ll need to fill in are;
- Username
- First Name
- Last Name
- Password
If you already have an account, simply go on to sign in.
2. Set up your dashboard
Your Techwriteable portfolio dashboard is a snapshot of your profile as a professional writer or content marketer. It showcases vital details about you, such as your title, bio, experience, and areas of expertise. Below are the key sections you should complete to create a standout portfolio.
1. Profile Information
Fill in your profile information to include important details about yourself, such as your name, headline, bio, location (premium feature), and logo (premium feature).
2. Experience and socials
Your experience section highlights the track record of your work and is one of the first things clients, partners, or recruiters look at when deciding who to work with. On TechWriteable, you can showcase up to three key experiences as part of your portfolio. You also have the option to add your social media links directly from your dashboard to boost credibility and visibility.
3. Expertise & Skills
The Expertise & Skills section is a unique feature of the TechWriteable portfolio that lets you highlight your core strengths as a content writer or marketer, right at a glance. You can select up to 5 niches you specialize in under Expertise, and 5 key skills you’re most proficient in under Skills to give potential clients a clear sense of what you do best.
4. Other Bylines
The Other Bylines section lets you showcase articles or projects you’ve authored outside of TechWriteable. It’s a great way to bring in your external work and display it seamlessly as part of your portfolio.
5. Attach CV (premium feature)
The Attach CV feature is part of TechWriteable’s premium portfolio offering. It allows you to upload your CV directly to your portfolio link, making it easily accessible to anyone viewing your profile. This feature is especially useful for recruiters and clients who want a quick snapshot of your full professional background.
Even if you’re not actively job hunting, having your CV attached increases your chances of landing unexpected gigs, freelance projects, or long-term roles, simply because the right people can view your qualifications at a glance. It’s a powerful add-on for anyone looking to grow their career and attract more high-quality opportunities.
6. Public view
Once your profile dashboard is complete, your portfolio is nearly ready to share. With all the essential details in place, you can confidently send your portfolio link to clients, recruiters, or collaborators, giving them a clear snapshot of your skills and experience at a glance.

3. Publish with the Post Builder
The Post Builder is a standout feature of the TechWriteable portfolio that lets you publish original content directly to your portfolio. These could be blogs, articles, reports, case studies, or thought leadership pieces, and each post is published with your author byline.
This feature is especially valuable for new content writers and marketers who may not have client work under their name to showcase yet. It provides a space to demonstrate your capabilities, share your perspective, and build credibility entirely on your own terms.
Premium subscribers on TechWriteable enjoy the added advantage of unlimited publishing and the ability to organize posts into categories. These categories can be based on writing niches like AI & Automotive, SaaS, or Web3 & Blockchain, or content formats such as blogs, case studies, or reports.
As a premium user, you have the freedom to structure your portfolio in a way that highlights your strengths and makes it easy for potential clients to find the work most relevant to them.
4. View your reach with the Analytics page
Once your portfolio is live and you’ve started publishing posts, you can track how your content is performing through the Analytics page on your dashboard. This section provides a basic overview of your reach, including the number of people who have viewed your portfolio, the frequency of your posts being read, and the overall engagement rate across your content.
If you’re a Premium user, the analytics page includes more detailed insights. You’ll be able to see where your viewers are located by country, the type of devices they’re using to access your content (such as mobile or desktop), and view-by-view performance for each individual post. This information updates automatically and helps you understand which content is getting attention and where your audience is coming from.
5. Find jobs on the job board
Finding quality content roles can be time-consuming, especially when you’re stuck scrolling through platforms filled with low-paying or irrelevant listings. The Job Board is available to Premium users and can be accessed directly from your dashboard. It features a regularly updated list of writing and content-related opportunities, ranging from freelance gigs to long-term roles.
Each listing includes details like the role, company name, pay range (if available), and the type of content required. You can scan through the board and find roles that match your skills. New roles are added frequently, and you can adjust your feed using the filters.
6. Join the Community
Beyond building your portfolio, TechWriteable also gives you access to a growing community of writers, marketers, and creatives. Within the community space, you can ask questions, share successes, receive feedback, and stay informed about platform updates, writing opportunities, and industry trends.
It’s a space designed for connection, whether you’re looking to collaborate, find support, or simply learn from others on the same path. You can join directly from your dashboard and start participating in conversations that help you grow professionally.
